Seaside
Gullane is famed for it’s award winning sandy beach with clear bathing waters and is very popular on a fine summers day when visitors from far and wide descend to enjoy what it has to offer. Also a 5 minute bus/taxi ride can take you into the heart of neighbouring seaside town North Berwick, where there are another large selection of shops, eateries and bars.
Golf
A little further afield we have 22 Golf courses within a 20 mile radius including the original Musselburgh old course where Golf is said to have been played since 1567 and was host to the British open no less than 6 times from 1874-1889.
Local Distillery & Brewery
Also only a short drive is the award wining Glenkinchie Distillery where you can learn about the ancient art of distilling Scotch Whisky (note the unique to Scotland spelling without the ‘e’! All this and more shall be learnt)
If you would rather visit a working brewery, then Belhaven brewery is only 20 minutes down the road also.
Edinburgh
Let us not forget Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city and home to the annual Military tattoo, fringe festival and the renowned Hogmanay street party. Whatever time of year you wish to visit then Edinburgh has something for you. From it’s stunning scenery, to its sometimes gruesome history, to it’s underground ‘old town’ ghost walks and it’s modern day vibrant shopping and bar scene. Edinburgh is only 30 minutes drive from Gullane or 20 minutes from the nearest train station at Drem.
